EXECUTIVE SUMMARY   The formation of Pan African Information Communication Technology Association, (hereinafter referred to as “PAICTA”) was an inevitable response to a need that all ICT small to medium enterprises (SMEs), Youth, Women, Persons with disabilities and communities in Africa are sitting in a conducive environment for innovation, development and growth.   PAICTA promotes ICT4D (Information and Communications Technologies for Development) initiatives aimed at bridging the digital divide (the disparity between technological "haves" and "have nots") and to aid economic development by ensuring equitable access to up-to-date communication technologies. PAICTA subscribes to the philosophy of Society 5.0 - an inclusive digital economy inspired by community development and driven by innovative technology solutions. We aim to create a society where we can resolve various social challenges by incorporating the innovations of the Forth industrial revolution (e.g. Programming, IoT, big data, artificial intelligence (AI), Robotics, Date Science, Cybersecurity, Application Development, and the sharing economy) into the lives of all Africans. By doing so the society of the future will be one in which new values and services are created continuously, making people’s lives more comfortable and promoting sustainability.   VISION   To create an integrated and inclusive digital society and economy in Africa that improves the quality of life of Africa’s citizens through enhanced communities, technology innovation and digital transformation.   MISSION   Champion for enabling environment for Africa digital innovation, IP Commercialisation, digital transformation and economic emancipation.   A unified voice, advocating Africa’s socio-economic development and sustainability.   Fostering their digital inclusion, collaboration, and increased cooperation in the ICT digital eco-system through African digital transformation catalyzing Africa as an innovation powerhouse of the future.   MANDATE   Pan African Information Communication Technology Association (PAICTA) is an organization whose mandate/ purpose seeks to act as a digital-transformative body in the interest of Communities, ICT Innovation Hubs, SME Development & Sustainability, Women, Youth & Persons with disabilities through meaningful professional engagement with their respective governments, corporates, multinationals, public, private organisations and the African Union.
